Sihan Zhao Wins Eight Awards in National Scholastic Art and Writing Competition

Congratulations to Maranatha senior Sihan Zhao for winning eight awards in the National Scholastic Art and Writing Competition.
This is one of the most prestigious competitions for young artists in the United States and can open many doors for winners.

In the category of Drawing and Illustration, Sihan won Honorable Mention for her piece titled “Pandora’s Box,” four Silver Key awards for her pieces titled “Narrative of My Life,” “I Live in a City,” “Gustav Klimt,” and “Death of a Salesman,” and three Gold Key awards for her pieces titled “I Break My Glasses,” “Someone in the Crowd,” and “Shape of Water.” Those who are awarded a Gold Key go on to be entered in other competitions for scholarships and monetary awards.

For 95 years, the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards has recognized students like Sihan for their excellent caliber, ability, vision, ingenuity, and talent in the arts and writing, and providing opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated.
