At Maranatha, the Visual Arts are a vibrant and essential part of student life. We offer a dynamic, four-year program designed to foster creativity, build technical skills, and deepen students’ understanding of both art history and artistic expression. Rooted in a Christian worldview, our program encourages students to explore and develop their God-given creativity through a wide range of media and techniques.
Instruction takes place in dedicated spaces including our art studios, photography studio and darkroom, Mac Lab, and throughout our beautiful campus. Students explore a variety of topics such as drawing methods, perspective, color theory, portraiture, oil and acrylic painting, modern art techniques, hand building in clay, wheel throwing, printmaking, photography, graphic design, and more.
Our students have earned recognition in prestigious local and national competitions, including the Congressional Art Competition, National Philanthropy Day, Scholastic Art & Writing Awards, LAUSD Student Competition, Art of Dairy, Roses on Parade, and the Huntington Hospital Public Art Exhibition. Many Maranatha graduates go on to study at top art schools and universities around the world.
