Return to Campus Updates

02-17-2021 update

This week there has been some progress in the status of schools reopening in LA County. The LAC Public Health Department announced that TK-6th grade is now allowed to open because the County has reached the required threshold of Covid cases (an adjusted 25 cases per 100,000 people). Schools that are ready to bring TK-6th grade students back to campus may do so provided they have fulfilled the mandatory reopening requirements.
Based on this model, Maranatha is doing everything we can to be prepared for when high schools are given the green light from the health department to open. Currently, the required threshold for high schools in LA County to reopen is an adjusted 7 cases per 100,000. You can view the county's current tier status on this website. We also fall under the authority of the City of Pasadena Public Health Department and are meeting their additional requirements for reopening.

As a reminder, if you have questions related to the reopening of school, we have created a special email 'hotline' for you. Please direct your questions to covidinfo@mhs-hs.org.

As a Christ-centered school, we are prayerful and careful in our planning to return and, of course, very hopeful as we see progress in the area of vaccines and declining case numbers. We are thankful for you and your diligence in following health protocols. This will allow us to open as soon as we are permitted to do so.

Blessings,

John Rouse
