Athletics News and Game Schedule: Feb. 23-28

Maranatha Athletics' Spring season is underway, with 7 active teams this year, many with multiple levels.

Before launching into Spring, we would like to congratulate our Boys' Varsity Soccer team and Head Coach Walker Haynes for advancing to the Quarterfinal game last week in CIF-SS Division VII Playoffs. Great season, Minutemen!

Congratulations to our Boys' Varsity Volleyball team as they took home 2nd Place in the South El Monte Season Opening Tournament! This week, the team is set to take on Flintridge Prep and Pasadena Poly on Tuesday and Thursday, with both matches away.

Baseball kicks off its season with its first official Jackie Robinson Stadium home game taking place on Thursday, Feb. 26. Details to follow as it will be part of the "Perfect Game" Tournament.

Golf is set to kick off with its first intrasquad match-up on Monday, Feb. 23, in preparation for its first team match, scheduled for next Tuesday, March 3, against Mark Keppel at Santa Anita Golf Course, at 2:15 pm.

Boys’ Tennis begins their season with their match-up against Pasadena High School at 3:30 pm on Thursday, Feb. 26.

Softball opens the week with a game on Tuesday at Ontario Christian and a Thursday game at South Pasadena—both set for 3:30 pm. The Lady Minutemen invite you to their first home game on Thursday, March 5, against Muir HS here on The Keith Family Field.

Swim and Dive opened up their season last Wednesday when they hosted Marshall Fundamental and Valley Christian at the team’s first home meet of the season. Their next meet is set for Tuesday, March 3, against Pasadena HS.

Track and Field will now practice at the John Muir HS track on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:00 pm—5:30 pm as the team prepares for the Covina Colt Classic Track Meet on Saturday, March 7.
