Maranatha Artists Recognized in Congressional Art Competition
We are proud to celebrate Seoyoon Kim ’25, who earned 3rd Place at Congresswoman Judy Chu’s Artistic Discovery Awards Ceremony, part of the annual Congressional Art Competition for high school students in the 28th Congressional District.
This year’s event, held at the Pasadena Elks Lodge, drew an impressive 220 submissions—making Seoyoon’s award a remarkable accomplishment. Her original artwork earned a monetary prize and will be displayed in Congresswoman Chu’s Pasadena office for the next year.
The Congressional Art Competition is a national initiative that encourages and celebrates the rich artistic talent of our country’s youth. We’re grateful to see Maranatha students thriving in this arena, and we applaud all of our participating student-artists: Kaylee Lam, Taylor Yun, Nicole Chen, Lauren Tang, and Sarah Jung for their inspiring work and bold creativity.
Moments like this reflect the strength of our Visual Arts Program, where students are empowered to use their God-given gifts to create, communicate, and glorify Him through the arts.
