Maranatha High School understands that the need for college and university financial aid has increased. Our College Counseling Department continues to keep our students updated with available scholarships from numerous online resources that fit their needs. The earlier your student researches and applies for a college scholarship for which they are eligible, the better the chances of being awarded the scholarship. College scholarships are awarded based on academic or athletic achievement, special skills, or cultural backgrounds.

  • Abbott and Fenner Scholarship Program

    The A&F Scholarships are available to all high school juniors and seniors as well as all students currently registered in any accredited post secondary institution. They will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year. Deadline - June 10, 2025. For eligibility and application procedure, click HERE
  • ACF Visionary Scholarship

    This scholarship is up to $5000 for students 9-12. Any student can apply. There is an essay requirement on "Why College Is Important To You." For more details on how to apply, visit HERE. 2024 - 2025 Spring App Deadline (received by):  December 1, 2024.
  • AEL Collegiate Essay Contest

    Pepperdine Libraries is pleased to facilitate an annual essay contest for US college students. Americanism Educational Leaders, which supports this scholarship, strives to provide students with opportunities to discover, understand, and appreciate some aspect of the American experience. This is an academic research essay contest. Scholarship prizes range from $1,000-$2,500.   • College Women's Club of Pasadena Scholarship

    The Club’s Scholarship Foundation allocates financial aid to approximately 10 full-time college students each year who need financial help completing their college or graduate education. Students must be sophomores or beyond. The application is due by February 12, 2025 For more info click HERE.

    These scholarships are specifically for students involved in CSF while at Maranatha. Certain scholarships are only available to students who are nominated by their adviser. Applications due by December 22, 2024. To find more information, please visit the website HERE.
  • CSS Profile

    The CSS Profile is separate from the FAFSA by way of private grants and scholarships. This is not government aid, that is only found through the FAFSA. These grants/scholarships are offered per school and this profile is required by some schools to be filled out. Make sure you verify if your schools require the CSS Profile application found HERE
  • Eco-Warrior Scholarship

    This $1,000 scholarship is open to all students who seek to live an ecofriendly lifestyle, are working toward living sustainably and reducing their carbon footprint. Deadline November 20, 2024. To apply click HERE.
  • Employment BOOST College Scholarship

    One scholarship is open to students studying any major and is also eligible for students who are currently undecided about their course of study. The second scholarship is available to students who will major or are majoring in business or STEM (science, technology, engineering, or math).

  • Financial Aid Comparison Tool

    This tool allows you to see how much financial aid you have received and how much left you will have to pay. Please visit the college board website HERE to use this tool. 
  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

    Completing the FAFSA application allows students who are eligible to receive federal aid via scholarships and grants. This application is available starting October 1st and is due by March 2nd. Please make sure to fill out the FAFSA application HERE.

  • Jeff T. Green Family Foundation Scholarship- CSU Channel Islands

    This is an excellent scholarship opportunity offered at CSU Channel Islands (CSUCI). First-time first-generation college students who meet the Pell Grant eligibility criteria (FAFSA) or have an equivalent Pell Grant (CADAA) Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) and have high school GPAs between 2.0-2.99 can apply.  For 2024-25, there are 250 scholarships available for first-time freshmen in the amount of $20,000 (spread over 4 years, pending completion of ongoing eligibility requirements).   • PixelPlex Bi-Annual STEM Scholarship

    The $2000 PixelPlex Bi-Annual STEM Scholarship was established to help support and inspire students to pursue further education in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM), as well as economics and business. One student will be chosen from the applicant pool and will be awarded based on the strength of their written essay.   • Prisma Diversity in Engineering Scholarship

    This scholarship is for female students who are pursuing a major in software engineering and are Black or African American, American Indian or Alaska Native, Hispanic or Latino, Asian, Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander. Search HERE for more details. Application deadlines vary.
  • Questbridge

    Questbridge is a National College Match site that connects low income, high achieving high school students to top universities. This program offers a full ride for 4 years if you qualify. For more information on Questbridge, visit HERE
  • Raise Me

    Raise Me is a website that generates scholarship money based on involvement and activities throughout high school. Many scholarships are specific to different universities and colleges. For further information, please click HERE.
  • SigEp Scholarships *MALE ONLY*

    Are you a senior and male? SigEp Fraternity offers scholarships for graduating seniors regardless of their fraternity affiliations in college. This is a college specific scholarship. To see if your college offers the SigEp scholarship, visit HERE
  • Stamps Scholars- Full Ride

    The Stamps Scholars Program, with its partner schools, seeks students who demonstrate academic merit, strong leadership potential, and exceptional character. Applying is easy: just apply to one or more of our partner schools. If you qualify, you’ll automatically be considered for a Stamps award. The majority of their partner colleges and universities don’t require a separate application for the Stamps Scholarship, but the application deadline and award process varies from school to school along with the amount of the award.   • UCLA SRC Donor Scholarships

  • Walmart Foundation First Generation Scholarship

    The Thurgood Marshall Fund and Walmart Foundation provide up to $6,200 for college expenses for students attending an HBCU or PBI. Eligible students must be first generation, have a minimum 2.5 unweighted GPA and be recommended by a counselor. For more information on this scholarship, visit the website HERE.
  • Western Undergraduate Exchange (WUE)

    This exchange program allows students to attend participating institutions in other states at a reduced tuition. Instead of paying out of state tuition, students pay in state tuition plus 50% of that amount. To see what schools participate and if you qualify, please visit HERE.
