Exploring Humility in Chapel This Month

By: Mia Huang ‘26, Ministry Team Member and ASB President
The next chapel series that our Maranatha community will be diving into this month is focused on HUMILITY. Our speakers will emphasize the importance of having humility when serving others at school, in our families, and at our workplaces.

We want to learn how to see others as greater than ourselves and be part of the transformation here at Maranatha and in the world around us. Christ demonstrated this when He came down from heaven and died for our sins. He lived the most humble life so that we, too, could serve others with a higher purpose in mind, which is to glorify God in all that we do.

Our theme passage for this year (Philippians 2:3-4) touches on this theme of humility, and I want to highlight the verses that follow. Philippians 2:6-8 says, “Though he was God, he did not think of equality with God as something to cling to. Instead, he gave up his divine privileges; he took the humble position of a slave and was born as a human being. When he appeared in human form, he humbled himself in obedience to God and died a criminal’s death on a cross.”

May we also live a humble life that reflects Christ’s character in order to expand the Kingdom of God here on Earth.
