What is the ARC? A Quick Guide to Student Support at Maranatha

The Academic Resource Center (ARC) is Maranatha’s hub for everyday academic help, open to all students, free of charge, plus two optional, fee-based programs for those who need added structure.

At-a-glance: What every student can use (no additional cost)
  • Guided study & coaching: Drop in to work, ask questions, and meet with trained peer and faculty coaches for one-on-one guidance in many subjects.
  • Study spaces & resources: Individual workstations, curriculum resources, and a reservable study room for quiet focus or group projects.
  • Writing Center (launching soon): Staffed by peer coaches and English teachers to help with planning, drafting, and revising.
  • Lead by serving: As students grow, they can give back by becoming peer coaches—an “Invested Citizen” opportunity.
Two add-on programs (for students who benefit from extra structure)
  • Academic Coaching: Small-group coaching that builds executive-function skills like time management, organization, goal-setting, and study strategies—aimed at growing confidence and independence in the classroom. (Fee-based; see details online.)
  • Learning Assistance Program (LAP): A research-informed support system for students with documented learning differences, focused on accommodations, direct skill instruction, and coordination (including College Board testing accommodations for PSAT/SAT/AP). (Fee-based; see details online.)
Why this matters
The ARC is designed to meet a wide range of needs, from a quiet place to study to targeted coaching, so students can clarify concepts, build strong habits, and approach schoolwork with confidence. It’s an everyday, accessible resource that strengthens academic skills now and prepares students for the independence expected in college.
