Athletics News and Game Schedule: May 4-9
Here are updates on our Spring teams, along with shoutouts to a few of our athletes.
Maranatha's Varsity Swim teams will be taking part in the CIF Division 3 and 4 Prelims on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, with opportunities for swimmers to advance into finals on Thursday and Friday. Events are held at Mt. SAC.
Congratulations to our Track stars, junior Deanna McKellop, senior Aidan Funn, and sophomores Mateo Montano and Andrew Mejia, as they've qualified for CIF Prelims in 200/400, 400, High Jump, and 1600, respectively, following the Olympic League Finals!
Boys’ Tennis is set to face Segerstrom, scheduled for May 6 at 3:00 pm at Pasadena High School. Congratulations to senior Reggie Park for his outstanding performance in the Coastal League Finals held at UCLA. He took home 3rd Place in League Individuals with two gutsy comeback performances.
Boys’ Golf competed in last week's Olympic League Prelims and Finals. Congratulations to junior Simon Almasi for taking 2nd Place in League finals after his comeback performance to force a two-hole playoff against Valley Christian’s Zeke Anderson.
Baseball celebrated Senior Day on Saturday with a non-league win over Oxford Academy. The team now plays its final week of regular-season games before its CIF-SS playoff draw.
Softball will celebrate Senior Night on Tuesday, May 5, at 3:30 pm. Come out and celebrate our senior athletes on The Keith Family Field before their game against Valley Christian!
