Ready to Serve?

Maranatha High School has planned three wonderful service opportunities for students next summer. It’s not too late to sign up for one of these life-changing experiences.

Accompanied by faculty and staff chaperones, Maranatha students can travel to Costa Rica or Greece, or serve near home in Hollywood. Students who are interested in one of Maranatha’s service trips planned for June 2024 should have their parents complete this form to secure a space, even if they'd just like more information about the trips.

Here is a summary of each of the trips:

Costa Rica: This trip will be chaperoned by Mr. Dusty Sanderson and Ms. Alicia Vessey. Students will be partnering with Joshua Expeditions and serving a local family by building a bespoke home for them to start a new life. Students will get the opportunity to present the finished home to the family, and also assist them with purchasing groceries and supplies. A day of fun is also planned in this 6-day itinerary, which includes a catamaran cruise and a snorkeling tour. The cost of this trip is between $2,100-2,300, and the trip is planned for the end of May 2024 through early June 2024.

Greece: This trip will be chaperoned by Mrs. Lindsey Price and Mr. Matt McNeil. Students will get an unprecedented opportunity to enjoy the sights and learn about the rich history of this incredible country. They will also get the chance to literally walk and do ministry where the Apostle Paul worked! A great deal of sightseeing, learning, and serving is planned for this 10-day trip that will depart in early June 2024. The cost of this trip is anticipated to be in the $4,000 range.

Hollywood:
This trip will be chaperoned by Dr. Phil Chew. Students will be partnering with the Hope Center, a Christian organization committed to holistic renewal of the city. This 3-day trip at the end of May 2024 will include preparing and hosting meals for unhoused citizens, assisting with renovations at the Hope Center ministry, and participating in their monthly "Day of Hope" event where they get to serve the homeless community by providing access to showers, free haircuts, and new clothes. We anticipate the cost of this trip to be minimal.
