Maranatha Sets Aside Time for Spiritual Emphasis

For years, Maranatha has set aside a week in the Fall and in the Spring to spend additional time together to re-center our focus on faith, which is the foundation of our school. Students, faculty, and staff gather daily for time to study, worship, talk, and pray together. The theme selected for this Spring's SEW is "joy", which seems fitting for this unprecedented time in history due to the isolation and separation caused by the pandemic. Maranatha's Chapel Advisor and Theology Faculty member Greg Parker shared, "The pandemic has altered many aspects of our student's daily life and threatens to diminish the joy we can experience as followers of Christ. To help our school family deal with this, we want to equip each other to find joy in the midst of all that is going on. Part of joy is acknowledging the difficulty of this season and then stepping back to see the good as well." 

Beginning on Tuesday, Feb. 16, the entire school will gather via Zoom for some encouragement, and to kick off the week. The following two days the students will meet for chapel with their Advisory Group, ending the week by meeting with their Community "house" on Friday. We invite parents, friends, and supporters of Maranatha to pray that our Spiritual Emphasis Week will be a time where we can all refocus and remember what is most important in our lives, our relationship with Jesus.
