Athletics News & Game Schedule: Oct. 30 - Nov. 3

Take a look below and see where our Girls’ Tennis, Football, and Cross Country teams are set to travel for playoffs. 

 

Football: The Minutemen secured the Cottonwood League Championship this past weekend with their 42-9 win over the Whittier Christian Heralds last Friday. The team now heads into CIF Division 11 playoffs and are set to face Cantwell-Sacred Heart of Montebello this week in the CIF Round 1 playoff game this Friday at 7:00 pm. Please be sure to purchase your tickets online via GoFan for those wishing to attend the game! 

 

Girls’ Tennis: The team finished the year 2nd place in the Olympic League and head into playoffs on Wednesday. The Girls’ Varsity Tennis Team is set to face off against The Buckley School in a CIF Round 1 Division 4 playoff matchup at 2:00 pm on Wednesday. The match will be played at the Balboa Tennis Courts in Van Nuys. 

 

Cross Country: The team is coming off a great finish at the Olympic League Finals with many runners posting personal best records along with a qualifying runner for CIF. The CIF preliminaries will take place on Nov. 10 at Mt. Sac. It was a terrific season for all of our runners! Congrats to Freshman runner, Rylee Dunn, for qualifying for Mt. Sac and CIF prelims! 

 

Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer: Student-athletes, please note that Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer tryouts are scheduled for Monday night, October 30, from 6:30-8:30 pm and Wednesday, Nov. 1. Practices are set to begin on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 6:00 pm.
