Athletics News & Game Schedule: Oct. 23-28

Girls’ Tennis is set to participate in the Olympic League Tennis Tournament hosted at Whitter Narrows on Tuesday and Wednesday this week. The Football team has their eyes set on the Cottonwood League Title and can secure that with a win over Whittier Christian this Friday. And, Cross Country looks to set records this Friday in their Final Olympic League Race in hopes of qualifying runners into CIF. This is a fun week to keep up with our student-athletes as we head into CIF play for our Tennis, Cross Country, and Football teams next week! Lastly, don't forget to join us for Senior Night at 6:30 pm this Friday when we will honor our football, cheer, and dance team seniors during the pregame of this football game! The theme for Friday is “Pink Out” and a portion of the game’s ticket sales will be donated to the Susan G. Koman Foundation to aid in the fight against breast cancer.

Football: The Minutemen finally had the opportunity to take the field for the team’s official Homecoming game last Friday vs. the Desert Christian Academy Conquerors and put on a show for our community. The team fought hard against the Conquerors and ended the night with a 54-22 Homecoming game victory in front of a crowd of future and former Maranatha students, athletes, and alumni, as well as esteemed Hall of Fame members. This Friday, the team prepares for a Whittier Christian showdown at 7:00 pm on the Keith Family Field where the team looks to defend home field and secure the Cottonwood League Title. 

 

The Girls’ Varsity Tennis Team is set to take on the Olympic League Tournament, hosted at Whitter Narrows/Mo Tennis Academy on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week.

 

The Cross Country Team is coming off a great finish at the Mt. Sac Invitational and is now preparing for their final Olympic League Race this Frida, October 27 at Ralph B. Clark Park in Buena Park!

 

Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer tryouts are set to take place on Monday night, October 30, from 6:30-8:30 pm, and practices will begin Wednesday, November 1.
