Maranatha High School Announces Wayne Herron as New Chief Advancement Officer

Maranatha High School is delighted to welcome Mr. Wayne Herron as the new Chief Advancement Officer.

Bringing over two decades of fundraising experience, primarily in the education and healthcare sectors, Mr. Herron's arrival marks a significant step forward in our school's ongoing commitment to fostering a Christ-centered educational environment.

Since beginning his career in philanthropy in 1996, Mr. Herron has distinguished himself as a leader capable of nurturing highly effective teams and fostering deep connections with principal donors, key stakeholders, and the broader community. His work, driven by a philosophy that philanthropy should be about “people loving people,” aligns seamlessly with our mission to equip hearts and minds to reflect God’s glory through academics, the arts, athletics, and service.

Mr. Herron was born and raised in Burbank, California. He embarked on his higher education journey at New Hope Christian College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Pastoral Studies and a Master of Divinity in Christian Formation and Discipleship at Fuller Theological Seminary. Although he initially pursued pastoral church ministry, his professional path shifted towards philanthropy where he has achieved significant impact, leading teams to raise over $130 million in support of various causes.

Throughout his career, Mr. Herron has been an active member of several professional organizations and currently serves as the president of the Board of Directors for the Southern California Association for Healthcare Development (SCAHD). His leadership has been recognized with numerous awards, including the Outstanding Leadership Award from SCAHD in 2017 and the Outstanding Professional Fundraiser Award from the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Greater Los Angeles Chapter in 2018.

Residing in La Canada Flintridge, California with his wife Yvonne, a successful relocation consultant, and their three sons, Mr. Herron embodies the values we cherish. His personal life is as rich and committed as his professional one; he is a devout Christian, an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan, and enjoys a variety of interests from reading and traveling to walking and painting. His enthusiasm extends to classic muscle cars, Harley-Davidson motorcycles, woodworking, and music, spanning genres from smooth jazz to progressive rock.

Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Mr. Wayne Herron as he joins the Maranatha family. We look forward to his leadership and are excited about the profound impact his expertise and vision will have on our community.
