Congratulations to Two MHS Debate Students

Two Maranatha students competed and won trophies in this past weekend’s State Qualifier Debate Tournament.

Sophomore Max Romero and Junior Dillan Desai competed Saturday in the Lincoln-Douglas style debates. The students tirelessly represented Maranatha well, Dillan competing in 5 rounds and Max competing in 6 rounds! At the end of their nearly 12-hour day, their effort and talent had paid off. Max placed 3rd and Dillan placed 7th! Each returned home with a trophy and a smile, knowing they had given their best effort! Max qualified to compete in the state championship in Carlsbad in April, and Dillan plans to assist Max in preparing for the tournament.

One parent who attended the tournament shared, “It was incredible to see the support they had for each other.”

Maranatha is proud of the hard work and dedication these young men have demonstrated, and wish them continued success in future tournaments.
