Athletics Update

Check out the fall sports season updates.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL: Congratulations to the Maranatha Girls’ Volleyball Team as they competed against Quartz Hill HS last Thursday in the first round of CIF playoffs. The team recorded their best season since the 2016-2017 season as the coaching staff looks to build for the upcoming years. Although the team did not pull off the victory, there were a lot of positive takeaways to build from this past season. Thank you coaches, players, families, and all those who supported Maranatha Girls’ Volleyball this year!

FOOTBALL: The Minutemen traveled to Vasquez High School last Friday night and came out on top with a 41-0 win in Acton, CA. The game allowed an opportunity to develop upcoming athletes and rest notable starters as the team looks ahead to Friday night’s matchup at Desert Christian Academy on October 28 at 7:00 pm. The team scored quick and early as we saw sophomore Miles O'Malley in the end zone 3 times before the second half of the game. Freshman Bradley Loiacono led the team with 2 interceptions on the night with defensive support from Issac Ton and Jacob Neely (5 tackles) and junior Carter Shupper who led the team with a total of 10 tackles on the night. The team looks to ramp up their practices and game plan as they are expected to take home the Cottonwood League Championship this Friday and prepare for CIF Playoffs. Good luck, Minutemen!

GIRLS’ TENNIS: Head Coach Arthur Hsieh and the Girls' Tennis Team have secured the Olympic League Championship. They finished the season with a hearty 14-4 win over Heritage Christian last Thursday. The team is now in preparation for their Olympic League Tennis Tournament hosted at Mo Tennis Performance Center at Whittier Narrows on October 25 & 26. They begin at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, and 2:00 pm on Wednesday.

CROSS COUNTRY: Cross Country competed in the Mt. Sac. Invitational on Friday, October 21, in preparation for the upcoming Olympic League FINAL to be hosted at Arroyo Seco on Thursday, November 3, at 4:00 pm. We wish our runners good luck as they head into their final meet of the season!
