GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL: Congratulations to the Maranatha Girls' Volleyball Team as they solidified a third place finish in the Olympic League standings and have secured a 1st round CIF playoff appearance! The Lady Minutemen completed their season with an overall record of 13-19, and a 3-5 league record. The team posted their best season since the 2016-2017 season where they lost in the first round of CIF and finished with a 16-9 overall record and 4-4 overall Olympic League record. The team will face the Quartz Hill High School Royals on Thursday, October 20th at 6:00 pm for a chance to advance to the next round of CIF. Good Luck, Team!
FOOTBALL: The Minutemen battled back from a 16-0 deficit on Friday Night during their Senior Night Game and were able to come out on top with a 34-16 victory on the Keith Family Field. Seniors Michael Martin, Connor Patterson, and Sam Funches all put up big numbers on the offensive side. Maranatha Receivers ended the night with 248 total yards, while the defense combined for a team high 59 tackles in the evening. The Minutemen will finish their 2022 campaign on the road with matchups against Vasquez HS this Friday in Acton and their final game to be played against Desert Christian Academy of Yucca Valley on Friday, October 28 at 7:00 pm. GIRLS’ TENNIS: Head Coach Arthur Hsieh and the Girls' Tennis Team have secured the Olympic League Championship and are set to finish the year against Heritage Christian this Thursday, October 20 at Burbank Tennis Center. The girls head into their final game of the season before heading into tournament play and CIF playoffs. Keep it rolling, tennis!
CROSS COUNTRY: Senior Runner Christopher Yun took home the first place finish in the second Olympic League meet hosted at Ralph B. Clark Park on October 12! This feat sets Maranatha up for an opportunity to potentially take home first place in all 3 Olympic League Cross Country meets this year. The Final Olympic League is set to take place at Arroyo Seco Trails on Thursday, November 3 at 4:00 pm for the Olympic League Finals.
