This Week in Athletics

Check out these season updates, dismissal times, and upcoming athletic events for the coming week.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL:  The Volleyball program looks to rally this week as they travel to Valley Christian on Tuesday, Sept. 20, to take on the Crusaders in the third Olympic League Contest. The ladies then take on South Hills at home on Thursday, 9/22. So far, the Lady Minutemen hold a 9-10 overall record as they have had some tough competition in tournaments and non-league games this year. Kudos to the team and coaches for always battling back on both sides of the net! This week’s game times are listed below.

FOOTBALL:  Thank you to all of our students, fans, and community for showing up to last Thursday night's football game at Western Christian as Head Coach Rand Holdren and the Minutemen competed against a bigger, more equipped Lancer football team. Maranatha's defense proved to be the difference maker as the defense tallied a season-high 3 interceptions and 2 sacks for losses on Thursday night in a 41-24 victory. Carter Shupper leads the team in tackles with 43 total tackles and 25 solo tackles. The Minutemen's next game is this Friday at home vs. Silver Valley HS in Maranatha's first Cottonwood League contest. Come out and support the team and celebrate “Aloha Night” on the Keith Family Field, this Friday, September 23, at 7:00 pm.

GIRLS’ TENNIS:  Head Coach Arthur Hsieh and the Girls' Tennis Team are coming off two tough road wins against Blair and Alhambra HS and look to have a strong showing this week as they begin their matches in their Olympic League play. Keep in mind that the Girls' Tennis Team hosts their home matches at the Pasadena HS tennis courts beginning at 3:30 pm.

CROSS COUNTRY:  Coach Eaton, Coach York, and the Cross Country Team will be competing in, and hosting, the Northern Olympic League Cross Country Meet #1 on Thursday, September 28, at 4:00 pm at the Arroyo Seco trails.

There are several upcoming opportunities for you to show your support for our student-athletes this week. In the event of a game cancellation, the athletes will be notified by their coaches.
