This Week in Athletics

Congratulations to our teams and athletes last week for qualifying, advancing, and setting school records in their respective sports during the CIF playoffs!

It's an exciting time for our teams and athletes this week as we look forward to the events taking place.
 
Tennis:
Boys' Tennis won their Friday, May 6 match against Arrowhead Christian 14-4 and advanced to yesterday's Round 3 CIF Tennis match vs. Santa Ynez HS. Though the Minutemen were narrowly defeated, they finished their season 15-2 and the Coastal League co-champions.
 
Baseball:
Our Baseball team won their game against Great Oak HS last Thursday with an 8-2 win at home and will face Quartz Hill HS on Tuesday, May 10 in the Div. II CIF Round 2 playoff game. If the team wins this game, their next game is scheduled for Friday, May 14 at 3:15 pm (location and time TBD). They would play the winner of Lakewood HS/Norco HS.
 
Swim:
Head Coach Dan Nahigian shared, "Congratulations to Alyssa Schiller and Ephraim Choi on competing so well at CIF Finals. Alyssa finished 5th in the 50 Freestyle, while Ephraim placed 15th in the 200 Free and 5th in the 100 Backstroke, setting another school record." 
 
Track & Field:
Finn Andrews advances to the CIF Divisional Qualifiers after his impressive Saturday performance at Carpinteria HS in the prelims. He advances in both the 110M Hurdles and 300M Hurdles. The next track & field meet will be hosted at Moorpark HS on Saturday, May 14.

Friday, May 12  (TBD; if Baseball wins on 5/10)
