Blood Drive Coming to Maranatha

Give blood. Help save lives. It’s that simple.
Did you know, according to the American Red Cross, one donation of blood can save as many as three lives, and someone in the United States needs blood every two seconds?

Maranatha students from the Sports Medicine and Red Cross Clubs are hosting a blood drive on Friday, February 11, 2022, from 8:00 am - 2:00 pm in the gym. You must be 16 or older to sign up. All are welcome to participate and you must sign-up in advance. Visit: RedCrossBlood.org and enter sponsor code: MARANATHAHS to schedule an appointment.

The need for blood donations was recently felt by Maranatha staff member and parent, Monica Bucknam, who shared her own personal story. “My brother-in-law was in a tragic car crash this past December, putting him in a coma and resulting in 5 major surgeries within 6 days. The doctors told him that he is a miracle and that the blood transfusions he received played a major role in saving his life. After a total of 8 surgeries and coming out of the coma, he is learning to stand on his feet again and was able to finally return home after being in the hospital for 34 days. Though he still has a long recovery ahead of him, God is good. If it wasn’t for the selfless people who donated blood to help their brothers and sisters in need, his life may not have been saved.”

We look forward to seeing you at the blood drive on February 11th. As a token of appreciation, each donor will receive an American Red Cross T-shirt.
