Maranatha Students Helping to Preserve the Environment

On August 21, 2021, a group of Maranatha High School students headed to Santa Monica to lend a hand with cleaning up the beach.
The students, members of Maranatha’s Future Environmentalists of America Club (FEA), participated in a beach cleanup effort in partnership with Bye Bye Plastic Bag California! The students were able to pick up a variety of trash along the coast, including harmful styrofoam, plastic bottles, plastic wrappers, and straws. On that sunny day, they walked along Santa Monica Pier 16 collecting trash in pairs in hopes of preventing particles, that could potentially harm sea creatures, from entering the ocean. Maranatha is proud of Esther Suh ’22 and her fellow club members for giving up their Saturday to make a difference on behalf of others.

Maranatha High School encourages students to pursue their interests through student clubs, and to seek opportunities to contribute to society through volunteer service. The school’s annual Club Rush event will take place on Wednesday, September 15, and will introduce students to the nearly 30 student clubs being offered this year.
