Don’t Miss November’s Parent Association Meeting Featuring Guest Speaker, Dr. Kara Powell
Maranatha High School welcomes guest speaker Kara Powell, Ph.D. to our Parent Association meeting on Wednesday, November 11!
Maranatha’s Parent Association would like to invite all our parents to their next monthly meeting, taking place on Wednesday, November 11 at 8:00 a.m. The meeting will be presented online via Zoom. The featured guest speaker, Dr. Kara Powell, is the Executive Director of the Fuller Youth Institute (FYI) and a faculty member at Fuller Theological Seminary. She is also the parent of a Maranatha senior. Dr. Powell will be speaking on the topic of “WHY We Are in a Mental Health Crisis & HOW to Respond to Your Child's Stress & Anxiety.”
Dr. Powell was named by Christianity Today as one of “50 Women to Watch.” She also serves as a Youth and Family Strategist for Orange, and speaks regularly at parenting and leadership conferences. Dr. Powell is the author or co-author of a number of books including Growing Young, The Sticky Faith Guide for Your Family, Sticky Faith Curriculum, Can I Ask That?, Deep Justice Journeys, Essential Leadership, Deep Justice in a Broken World, Deep Ministry in a Shallow World, and the Good Sex Youth Ministry Curriculum.
