Come Join Us in Israel During the Summer of 2020

Maranatha is going back to Israel in the Summer of 2020 and would love to have you on this trip!
Israel will be a cross-cultural experience filled with discovery and pilgrimage. While walking where Jesus walked, you will spend time in the community, rediscovering and renewing your faith in the God of Israel, being baptized in the Jordan River, and praying at the Western Wall. Israel is a living, breathing, vibrant country and being there tends to make for a powerful spiritual experience as you explore the settings in the stories of the Bible. During the trip, you will spend time with both Israeli and Arab high school students in Nazareth; visit Yad Vashem, Israel’s own Holocaust museum; eat shawarma, falafel, and hummus in the Jewish quarter of the old city; and visit Arab Christian entrepreneurs in an industrial park in Nazareth. You will be engaging the people of Israel in interfaith discussions.

Your trip to Israel will also be an adventurous one as you ride camels through the Negev desert and spend the night in a big tent in a Bedouin encampment. You will also hike to the top of Masada, kayak on the Jordan River, float in the Dead Sea, and hike through Hezekiah’s tunnel 40 feet below the streets of Jerusalem.

If you are interested in traveling to Israel and want further information about the trip, please attend the informational meeting in the Commons on Thursday, November 7 at 7:00 p.m. The Israel trip will be from May 31-June 10, 2020. The cost of the trip is $3500 person, which includes airfare, accommodations, all tours and excursions, and all meals.
