Here we are entering the last two and half weeks of the school year and spring finals are right around the corner!
It seems as if we were just beginning the school year with Back to School Night, yet our Spring Finals are less than two weeks away. As we move toward the completion of the year I would like to take this opportunity to encourage us all and provide information for the coming weeks.
The week of May 20-24 has several school events and a special Academic Awards Week schedule (view schedule HERE
). On Tuesday, May 21 the Yearbook dedication will take place during Advisory; on Wednesday, May 22 the Academic Awards Program in the Ambassador Auditorium will start at 10:20 a.m.; on Thursday, May 23 the Senior Chapel/Torch Ceremony will be held in the Gym starting at 11:15 a.m.; and Friday, May 24 will be the first day of Spring Finals.
Final exams will start on Friday, May 24, and continue on Tuesday, May 28 and Wednesday, May 29. There will be NO Final Exams on Monday, May 27 in observance of Memorial Day. During Final Exams, students will either be testing in the Gym or in individual classrooms in the Academic Center. Students scheduled to take an exam in an individual classroom will have a faculty member other than their teacher proctoring the exam. Students’ regular teachers will be coming to all testing rooms to answer questions during the final exam. Please click HERE

There is one major change in the Final Exam instructions for this semester. All students in an LAP class and all Watch and Consult students will take their Final Exams in the Commons and in AC 318 under the supervision of Dr. Rocio Watkins and faculty. We are strongly recommending that if students do not have a Final Exam during one of the scheduled periods that they stay home or go home to study. If students are on campus during a Final Exam period when they do not have a final assigned, they are to report to the Student Center to study.
For seniors, there are two major events occurring during the last week of finals before Baccalaureate and Commencement. On Tuesday, May 28 after Finals Exams there is a MANDATORY graduation practice from 12:00-4:00 p.m. with lunch being served to the seniors at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 29 is Grad Night at Disneyland for our seniors who will be attending. The buses to Disneyland will leave Maranatha at 12:00 p.m. Students may park their cars in the parking structure while attending Grad Night. Students are scheduled to return from Disneyland to Maranatha at 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 30.
Also note, that all classwork and assignments for this semester are due Thursday, May 23. Maranatha’s grading program will be closed starting Friday, May 24 so that teachers may finalize grades. Semester grades will go out the second week of June.
