There is an important meeting for 10th grade parents on April 29 regarding the upcoming school year for your Maranatha student.
Maranatha Sophomore parents, it’s hard to believe your child is already going to be a junior this fall! The College Counseling Department works tirelessly every day to make sure that all our Maranatha parents stay up-to-date and informed regarding their child’s academic progress, testing dates and scores, college applications, and more. And next week, Monday, April 29, the College Counseling Department invites all current Sophomore parents to attend the Sophomore Parent Night in the Student Center from 6:00-7:00 p.m.
The Sophomore Parent Night will be a time for College Counseling to explain that your sophomore student will be transitioning from having Justin Riddle as their counselor to one of the other three counselors, Mike Bell, Alexandra Brown, or Teresa Petersen, for the remaining two years of high school. Also, during the meeting you will gain information regarding Mock Testing dates; what your child should be focused on now, including SAT prep and tutoring, NMSQT scores, and college visits; the Junior Send-Off Dinner in January 2020; and volunteering. Also, before this summer, Sophomore College Counselor Justin Riddle will be emailing parents and students regarding summer reading and who your child’s counselor will be their junior and senior years.
If you have any questions about this event, please contact Alexandra Brown at firstname.lastname@example.org. The College Counseling Department looks forward to seeing all of our Sophomore parents on April 29!
