It’s Not Where You Go, It’s Who You Meet Along the Way

Art is essentially something to be experienced!
We can write articles about how amazing the Visual and Performing Arts program is at Maranatha, but you truly won’t understand it until you experience it. We want to give you that chance, and on Thursday through Saturday, March 14-16, Maranatha will be giving you the opportunity during our 1st Annual Arts Festival where everyone can experience all the aspects of the art that is happening on our beautiful campus.

The theme for the 1st Annual Arts Festival is “Over the Rainbow: A Visual Journey” and it will be held on the Fountain Plaza and in the Student Center, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. each day. We invite you to stroll through the exhibits and experience the art our talented students have produced. On the Fountain Plaza will be our Visual Arts Exhibit Pavilion, where inside you will find fantasy-themed art created by Maranatha students. Also outside on the Fountain Plaza, Robert’s Catering will be barbecuing chicken and beef luleh kebabs with all the “fixins,” while music is being provided by Maranatha’s student musicians. Inside the Student Center will be an arts interactive space that will be centered around this year’s spring musical, “The Wizard of Oz.” It will include a rainbow chat board hosted by the “wizard” himself, an Emerald City black and white mural that will be created by you, tables where you can return to your childhood and color in pages depicting our very own characters from “Wizard,” and a photo booth to take memorable photos.

Come experience Maranatha’s 1st Annual Festival of the Arts by bringing your family and having a picnic on the Fountain Plaza surrounded by the beauty of that space and completed by a gourmet Mediterranean meal, serenaded by Maranatha musicians. Then, stroll through the art pavilion and immerse yourself in the activities in the interactive space. At 7:00 p.m. walk over to the Ambassador Auditorium and prepare yourself for our amazing production of “The Wizard of Oz.” It will be a memorable artistic experience for you and your family.
