Serving with Love: Maranatha Students Make a Difference in Baja

Maranatha students and staff enjoyed an incredible three-day trip to Baja, Mexico, where fourteen students, accompanied by Maranatha faculty, visited Door of Faith Orphanage just outside Rosarito. During the trip, the group stayed with a local Mexican family and spent several days serving the children at the orphanage.

In preparation for the visit, students planned a variety of activities to share with the children, including arts and crafts, bracelet making, soccer, nail painting, and games. Door of Faith Orphanage cares for approximately 85 children, making one-on-one attention a rare and precious gift. The opportunity to spend time playing, drawing, and creating crafts together was meaningful for both the students and the children. Saying goodbye at the end of the trip was especially difficult.

One of the most memorable moments was watching the students care for the babies in the infant room. Feeding, holding, playing with, and simply loving on the youngest children at the orphanage was a particularly special experience.

This trip was made possible in part by the generosity of a donor who provided lodging for the entire group. This thoughtful gift was a powerful reminder of the impact generosity can have in encouraging others toward good deeds. Both the students and faculty were deeply touched by this act of kindness. In addition to serving the children, the group was also able to make a financial donation to support the orphanage's work.

The trip was a meaningful experience for everyone involved, and the school looks forward to building a lasting partnership with Door of Faith Orphanage in Rosarito. The students, along with Mr. Ingram, Mr. Nunez, and Mrs. Steedman, are already looking forward to returning!
