This summer, Maranatha High School will host a 9-day, in-person Generative AI for Social Good Intensive presented by Inspirit AI and designed for students entering grades 8-12.
This hands-on program invites students to explore the fast-growing world of generative AI while creating a project that addresses a real-world problem they care about. The program will run weekdays only from June 8-18, from 1:00-4:30 pm, and is open to both Maranatha students and students from other schools.
One of the most exciting aspects of this program is that no coding experience is required. Students will be introduced to no-code and low-code AI tools, large language models, AI agents, and multimodal systems, while also learning skills in prompt design, rapid prototyping, and user experience design. It is an ideal opportunity for students who are curious about AI and want a practical, accessible entry point into this important and rapidly evolving field.
Throughout the intensive, students will design and build their own generative AI prototype focused on a socially impactful issue. Project ideas may connect to fields such as healthcare, mental health, financial inclusion, sustainability, engineering, and education. In addition to building something meaningful, students will learn how to present and position their work for future opportunities such as competitions, research fairs, and college portfolios.
The program is presented by Inspirit AI, whose instructors include faculty and mentors from Stanford, MIT, Harvard, and other leading universities. Past summer programs hosted at Maranatha have helped students strengthen university and career readiness skills through collaborative, project-based learning and final presentations.
