Athletics News and Game Schedule: March 16-21

We are looking forward to another exciting week of Maranatha Athletics. Below is a look at what’s ahead for our teams. Please be advised that the heat may require us to adjust some games and events throughout the week.
 
Here’s a look at the week ahead for Maranatha Athletics:
 
Baseball - The week begins league play for the Minutemen as they take on the Whittier Christian Heralds. On Tuesday, the JV team travels to Whittier Christian for a 3:30 pm game while Varsity hosts Whittier Christian at 5:00 pm at Jackie Robinson Stadium. Thursday features another full slate as both JV and Varsity take on Whittier Christian once again. The series continues Friday with additional JV and Varsity matchups against Whittier Christian, before the younger teams close out the week on Saturday with Frosh/Soph hosting Alhambra and JV competing against Crescenta Valley.
 
Boys’ Volleyball opens the week on Tuesday when both JV and Varsity travel to Whittier Christian. The Minutemen then return to action on Friday with JV and Varsity matchups against Valley Christian/Cerritos at home.
 
Softball - The Lady Minutemen have three games scheduled this week. Softball begins Monday at home against Heritage Christian, continues Tuesday against Pasadena, and concludes Thursday with a matchup away at Whittier Christian.
 
Boys’ Golf competes in two matches this week, opening Monday against Crescenta Valley before returning to the course Tuesday to face Pasadena at Eaton Canyon GC.
 
Boys’ Tennis will compete twice this week, beginning Tuesday away at California Academy of Math & Science for a 3:30 pm start, followed by a Thursday matchup against Wildwood.
 
Our Swimming & Dive team competes on Tuesday in a meet featuring both Marshall Fundamental and Valley Christian. The girls’ team then returns to the pool on Thursday to compete against The Archer School for Girls.
 
Track & Field begins its Olympic League Meet #1 on Thursday as the JV and Varsity programs compete at Heritage Christian. Please note this game was moved to a later time due to the heat.
