Athletics News and Game Schedule: March 9-14
Our Spring sports programs continue to compete at a high level, and we’re grateful for the continued support from our school community as our athletes compete both at home and on the road.
Here’s a look at the week ahead for Maranatha Athletics:
Boys' Volleyball hosts three home games this week. Your Minutemen take on Heritage Christian at home on Tuesday (varsity only), Providence/Burbank on Thursday, and finishes out the week on Friday in a game against Alemany.
Baseball will travel to Valencia High School on Tuesday, and on Thursday, they will be at Northview High School to take on the Vikings. The JV team will then host St. Francis on Friday night at 5:00 pm at Jackie Robinson Stadium.
Golf is currently 1-1 after last week's matches and heads into this week with four home matches. On Monday, JV takes on Lancaster Baptist, on Tuesday they play against South Pasadena, on Wednesday match against United Christian Academy, and on Thursday against Glendora High School.
Boys’ Tennis begins the week with non-league opponents on Monday (vs. Monrovia), and Wednesday (vs. Alhambra). Both games are set to be played away. On Friday, March 13, the team will be heading to UCLA to watch the UCLA vs. USC tennis match for a team event.
Softball competed in the Laguna Hills Softball Tournament this past weekend. The team's official home opener is set for Monday, March 16, against Heritage Christian at 3:30 pm. This week, the team is set to travel to Torrance High School to participate in its 15th annual nationally ranked tournament. Game times are listed below.
Boys' and Girls' Varsity Swim took part in the La Cañada All-City Swim Meet this past weekend. Results TBD. Swim will also be competing away against Flintridge Prep on Tuesday, March 10, at 3:45 pm, and then will host Northview High School on Thursday, March 12, at home.
Track and Field results from Saturday’s meet are TBD. The team now prepares for the Monrovia Wildcat Invitational scheduled for Saturday, March 14.
