Scripture at the Center

By: Emily Gardner, Ministry Team Member
This month's chapel series will be reflecting on “Scripture”. This series will show us the work that God can do in us through Scripture and remind us that Scripture can be a daily practice of worship.

Scripture is God’s gift to us, and is meant to be at the center of our relationship with Him. Scripture can provide us with a deeper understanding of God’s power, love, and influence in our lives. Scripture can also offer us wisdom and understanding of God’s character.

Our theme verse for this year, Philippians 2:3-4, is just one example of how the Bible can teach us valuable life lessons. "Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others". This verse teaches us to be selfless and humble, and to take care of the people around us.

This month, our hope is that the students of Maranatha will take a moment to reflect on their relationship with God and think about how Scripture affects our day-to-day life. We would encourage students this month to take the step to deepen their faith by diving into scripture daily, making it a familiar practice to grow closer to God, and using their connection with God to strengthen our community.
