A Weekend Set Apart: Spiritual Life Retreat at Forest Home

By: Dusty Sanderson, Chapel Advisor
After a half day of school on Friday, January 23, fifty-six students traveled up the mountain to Forest Home in Forest Falls for our annual Spiritual Life Retreat. This retreat is designed to give students a chance to disengage from the day-to-day pressures and distractions of life and intentionally focus on God, one another, and the beauty of God’s creation.

From the very beginning of our time together in worship, the presence of God was palpable. Students engaged fully in music led by Angel Ramirez and his team from Venice Church. These powerful moments of worship were followed by inspired messages from Pastor Makenzi Koyan of Vintage Church in Pasadena, along with meaningful small group discussions that allowed students to reflect and process together. In between these times, students also enjoyed unstructured fellowship and a variety of activities offered throughout the camp.

By the end of the weekend, it was clear that we had experienced something truly special. God moved powerfully in our midst, reminding us why the Spiritual Life Retreat is such an important and cherished tradition in our community. We are deeply grateful to our chaperones for their time, care, and investment in making this weekend possible.

May God continue to work among us as we seek to glorify Him in every aspect of our lives.
