The Maranatha Armenian Student Association (ASA) is proud to be a group of roughly one-sixth of the student body. The group had a very active and successful month as they pursued their stated goal “to educate and bring awareness about Armenian culture, traditions, and faith to our peers, as well as the greater community.”

 

This past month, the student group heard from pastor and MHS alumnus, Vache Sevajian, who shared his testimony of the Armenian faith and culture. In addition, the group taught the traditional wedding dance, “Tamzara”, served food and coffee to their peers at World Cultural Day, and regularly posted the traditions of faith and culture on their Instagram page. Some of their posts highlighted notable landmarks in Armenia, while some answered frequently asked questions about the Armenian Genocide.

 

According to Angie Mitilian, “We are more than grateful for the listening, empathy, and appreciation of our culture and traditions that Maranatha demonstrated for our nation—our home—Armenia.” If you would like to see what they curated during this month, check out @maranathaasa on Instagram!
