Jazzy Night Blues Annual Gala Raises $125,000!

Maranatha’s Annual Gala raised $125,000 for acoustical and sound improvements in Maranatha’s Student Center.
It doesn’t seem possible that Maranatha’s Annual Gala, Jazzy Night Blues, was just two weeks ago, taking place on Saturday, March 7 at The Hilton Pasadena. Gratefully, the event took place before the campus was closed and the “Safer at Home” restrictions were put into place. Thanks to the hard work of a great committee, led by Gala Co-chairs Heather Dinger and Martha Gonzales, net proceeds from the event totaled $125,000. These funds will help Maranatha make important acoustical and sound improvements in the school’s Student Center.

For those who weren’t able to attend, Jazzy Night Blues featured over 60 Silent Auction items and seven Live Auction items. Over 220 tickets were sold to the event, including over 20 tickets for teachers, sponsored by generous donors. For the third year in a row, the event included a drawing for a beautiful diamond cross necklace. This year’s winner was Sherry Kefalas (mother of senior Jacob Kefalas, and wife of alumnus Michael Kefalas '90). The necklace was won by Kay Rouse in 2019 and by Martha Gonzales in 2018. A big thank you to everyone who played a part in making this event a success – sponsors, ticket purchasers, auction bidders, committee members, and more.
