Iron Sharpens Iron: Chapel Series on Relationships
By: Elisabet Vaquerano ’27, Ministry Team Member
Maranatha’s Ministry Team is excited to announce that this month's chapel series will be focused on RELATIONSHIPS.
Although relationships can come in many different forms, each one is fundamental to Christian life. Friendships, family, classmates, and everything in between shape who we are and who we become. One of the most important relationships is our relationship with Christ. Every other relationship we hold is shaped by how we walk with God and what values we hold with it.
Scripture reminds us that relationships are made to help us grow in our faith, not pull us away from what God is calling us to. Proverbs 27:17 says, “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.” This verse shows how God uses relationships to refine us and shape us into who we were meant to be. Healthy relationships help us reinforce truth, be accountable, and, most importantly, to love.
Our hope this month is for our students and staff alike to reflect on the relationships they hold with the people around them and with God. In the midst of this, we’ll continue to explore what it means to build relationships rooted in love, truth, forgiveness, and respect, and how our relationships can point others toward Christ.
