Welcome to Club Rush! This year's event is totally unique. We've never done one virtually before, but this should be fun! In the video above, Mr. Mancini provides brief instructions on how to participate so you can get the most out of this event.   • Adulting 101

    The Purpose of this club is to help young people transition into independent adulthood where they can thrive and be ready for anything (social events, finances, etc.).

  • Ambassador Club

    The purpose of the Ambassador Club is to serve Maranatha High School by supporting the Admissions Office. The club’s goal is
    to assist prospective student applicants to determine if Maranatha is the appropriate school for them. You may be asked to do things such as give tours, pass out name tags, direct visitor traffic for special events, attend Ambassador bonding events and activities, and above all, be flexible and committed in availability and service. Ambassador Club Leaders will represent Maranatha High School with a Christ-like attitude and a servant’s heart.

  • American Sign Language (ASL) Club

    Our Purpose: We aim to educate the campus with the ASL language and Deaf culture. We hope to inspire our signers to close the language barrier while doing it with God's love.

  • Animals in Need

    Our Purpose: This club is organized to help God's living creation. We are planning to serve others and especially in regards to animal humane societies, wildlife organizations, and where we see animals in need.

  • Armenian Student Association

    Our Purpose: We exist to bring the Armenian diaspora and those who are interested in the culture together to socialize, learn about historic and current events, and bring awareness to the community about our culture. We also look forward to collaborating in a diverse society with our community at large.

  • Asian Student Association

    Our Purpose: To create a space for Asian students at Maranatha to come together and celebrate their culture and race. The club is not exclusive to Asian students, but we will focus on our Asian students and facilitate conversations about Asian identity development in Maranatha, the US, and the world.

  • Badminton Club

    Our Purpose: 1. Offer students a chance to play Badminton with each other after school. 2. Provide a way for students to exercise and release pressure. 3. Learn a new sport.

  • Black Student Union (BSU)

    Our Purpose: The Black Student Union seeks to provide a safe space on campus where black students can feel encouraged and challenged. We welcome all students and want to collaborate to make our school and community a better, more inclusive place.

  • California Scholarship Federation (CSF)

    Our Purpose: The California Scholarship Federation chapter at MHS works to address the needs of those in our community through student leadership and dedicated service. Within MHS, CSF nurtures the hearts of MHS servant leaders to become more like Christ, the ultimate servant leader, who himself was dedicated to showing love to all those around him. Through CSF service projects, which cover a broad spectrum of community needs, students become more aware of how they can lead, love, and serve their community.

  • Cartoon Club

    Our Purpose: We exist to appreciate, study, and discuss the many mediums of animation and how creators express themselves and touch others through this gift.

  • Chinese Student Fellowship & Culture Club

    Our Purpose: The club’s objective is to spread the gospel by creating an accepting atmosphere that’s open for testimonies and questions regarding Christianity for the Chinese students. We also hope to form a supportive community that would embrace the Chinese culture and provide care for the Chinese students.

  • Computer Science Competition Club

    Our Purpose: The purpose of this class is to gain knowledge in computer science, to find useful ways to solve problems, to participate in USACO (USA Computing Olympiad), and to participate in other fun hackathons for high school students.

    Our Purpose: We wish to celebrate the many aspects of theater by strengthening our improv skills, training for acting competitions, and creating student-led productions.

    We invite everyone from brand new theater lovers to hardcore theater nerds. With us, it’s ok to be dramatic!

    Our Purpose: To encourage students at Maranatha High School to develop real-life business skills through promoting an entrepreneurial competition.

  • EYE Club

    Empowering Youth Thru Education
    Our Purpose:
    We work to address the schooling needs of those in transitional housing or who are of low income. We want to aid these students as they may not be able to afford professional tutors. We want to support these children and help them grow and love them as Christ would.

  • Fashion Forward

    Our Purpose is to help our community by donating clothes, as well as raising money for organizations in the LA area. Additionally, we will be learning about sustainable fashion and discussing our fashion tastes.

  • Film Club

    Our Purpose: In Film Club, we watch and analyze films old and new. The club president selects classic films and club members choose films of their own. We will also make promotional films/ articles/ materials for the school relating films to the message of Jesus Christ.

    Our Purpose: We want to celebrate the exciting activities available in God's wondrous creation.  If you enjoy the challenge and fulfillment of fishing, hiking in the beautiful mountains, or experiencing new personal outdoor adventures then we may be the club for you.

  • FUNance Club

    Our Purpose: This club has the purpose of educating students about the importance of finance by learning about the concepts and applications. It also aims to cultivate the interest of students in finance and help them explore potential career paths.

  • Future Environmentalists of America

    Our Purpose: We want to bring awareness of what we do that affects our environment. In lieu of current global warming and climate changes, we need to educate ways we can help alleviate by recycling, save energy, and lessen pollution. Hoping to do some practical steps on campus to start that process.

  • Helpers of Humanity

    Our Purpose: To focus on helping those who are in need, such as homeless and low-income families, as well as women and children who are victims of abuse. We plan on offering our help and services to pre-existing organizations to help with these types of people. Our goal is to also spread God’s love to those around us!

    Our Purpose: This club desires to help the underprivileged and vulnerable people in our community especially during these difficult times.

  • Hispanic Heritage Club

    Our Purpose: To give both Hispanic and non-Hispanic students an outlet to voice, understand, and raise awareness of their unique challenges, and celebrate the language and culture, in order to make an impact at school and in the community.

  • Hope for Humanity

    Our Purpose: To help the vulnerable groups in our society. The main project that we are focusing on this year is helping the Agape Belize Cure private organization. Agape Belize Cure is a private organization that has students and doctors travel to the country of Belize to provide free medical care to the citizens there. Joshua Wang is the Chief Fundraising Officer of Agape Belize Cure and he will be educating the club members about the medical and health situation in Belize. Furthermore, in order for there to be a medical mission trip in the Summer of 2021, fundraising and preparation of medical supplies need to occur. Agape Belize Cure always brings medication and medical supplies from the United States down to Belize. In order to do that, this club will play a major part in helping Agape Belize Cure fundraise money in order to afford medical supplies. 
    In addition, the club also has organized annual drives such as:
    • Food Drive
    • Sock Drive
    • Bracelet and Earrings project for women’s shelter

  • International Student Club

    Our Purpose: The International Club exists to help international students adjust to new learning and living environments. We would also like to promote cultural exchange between domestic and international students through different activities.

  • Kiwin Club

    Our Purpose: The Maranatha Kiwin's Key Club is part of the Kiwanis Organization which strives to give leadership opportunities to students in the U.S. and around the world. We will be focusing on service projects and volunteer work within our community along with taking part in different Kiwin's run events like leadership conventions and rallies.

  • Making Her Story

    Our Purpose: Like our name entails, the purpose of our club is making her story matter. It is a safe space for the female community at Maranatha to come together in unity to support one another. Vulnerability and authenticity can be challenging, so we want to ensure all girls feel heard and seen as we navigate high school together.

  • Math Club

    Our Purpose: To create an environment for students who are passionate about math to challenge themselves with math questions that are outside of the usual classroom curriculum. In addition, to get students ready for the Annual American Mathematics Competition.

    Our Purpose: We want to educate the student body about occupations and careers in the medical field along with the educational path to get there.

    Our Purpose: To create a safe environment where students can discuss and share anything related to mental health and educate members about different mental health disorders.

    Our Purpose: Step into the shoes of a United Nations Delegate and engage in discussions and debates aimed at creating solutions for global issues and challenges along with developing language skills.

  • Mosaic Club

    Our Purpose: Creating a safe place for students to come together and build community with each other. In addition, creating a Mosaic of diverse personalities and backgrounds all based on the truth of Jesus Christ.

  • Nanoseed Club

    Our Purpose: Club members work together to raise money for kids in rural China and bring our community together through meaningful conversations.

  • Save the Wave

    Our Purpose: Save the Wave is a club that’s revolved around environmental awareness, specifically towards ocean pollution. We will meet once every other week on zoom. Since we can’t do beach clean-ups right now, the plan is to still do fundraising activities and informational meetings to learn about what’s going on and how to be more sustainable.

  • Science Club

    The Purpose of the Science Club is to find out more about the world through science. We are fascinated by just the abundance of things to learn, explore, and discover in the universe. The ways we facilitate our curiosity is through going to events such as the Science Bowl, Science Olympiad, and SeaPerch. These events provide platforms where we can learn about different things and put them to the test in joining with other schools in these competitions. Apart from competitions, the club is a place where people that love learning about the world gather and where we can see the world through the lens of science in a fun and absolutely mind-blowing way!

    Our Purpose: To gain a better understanding of music theory, songwriting, and performance through song analysis, discussions, and opportunities to share original material.

  • Student Body Newsletter (xcetra xtra)

    Our Purpose: Xcetra Xtra is a student-run newsletter that mainly serves as a creative outlet and simultaneously broadens our experiences in journalism. The Maranatha Student Body Newsletter is a news, advice, and art hub made by students, for students.

  • Tutors 4 Kid

    Our Purpose: Tutors 4 Kid aims to help these students adapt to a new way of learning. We are an affiliate of La JaJa Kids, which was founded in 2010 in Southern California. In our free program, student tutors assist their tutees to achieve academic excellence through online learning.
