Classic Concert Creating Magic in the Ambassador Auditorium

By: John Wells, Performing Arts Chair
Excitement is growing among our students as the day approaches for our “Classic” Concert on February 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the Ambassador Auditorium.
I don’t know whether our community at large understands what a talented group of young people we have attending Maranatha, but that evening will be the perfect place and time to see that displayed. In a place known for great concerts, we have the opportunity to honor that talent and enjoy a night filled with some of the greatest music of all time. When you have the great resource of the Ambassador Auditorium combined with the incredible talent of our young musicians, magic is bound to happen.

We are featuring some of our most talented seniors that night, including Olivia Silao, Jae Yeon Hong, Jennifer Treptow and Kay Sanchez, and are also introducing the newest addition to our musical family, the Maranatha Octet. An ensemble from Azusa Pacific University will be joining us as well that evening. Our Mixed Ensemble will be singing in more than one language that evening, including pieces in German and Latin, and our Orchestra will be performing pieces that span history and genre all the way from “Hoedown” by Aaron Copland, to music from the film “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.”  It will definitely be a “white tie and tails night” Maranatha style.

Tickets for the evening are available right now online at maranathahighschool.org/boxoffice. General admission is $10 and student tickets are $8. Seating is unreserved, so arrive early. Tickets will be available at the box office the day of the performance as well. So break out your finest and get ready to enjoy a “classic” concert by Maranatha’s Mixed Ensemble and Orchestra in the world-class Ambassador Auditorium.
