A Season of Service

Many of our student advisory groups are preparing to complete or have already begun working on their annual service projects. This past weekend, for example, two groups worked together to serve the homeless in our community.

On Saturday, October 1, Mr. Bell's and Mr. Mesisca's advisory groups gathered at 7:30 a.m. to complete their service project. Prior to this, the advisory groups had decided to gather necessities (food, water, toothbrush/paste, socks, hand sanitizer, and shirts) and pack bags that they would then distribute to the homeless in the Pasadena area. Over a period of two weeks, the advisory group raised funds together, gathered items, and packed the bags, and then went out into the community on October 1 to distribute the items and be a blessing and an encouragement to the community.

Service projects such as this one provide Maranatha students the opportunity to put others first, and experience what it means to serve humbly in God’s love.
