Maranatha High School Welcomes Edwin Salazar as Girls’ Soccer Head Coach

Edwin Salazar is taking over the girls’ soccer program at Maranatha High School.

Edwin has over 17 years of coaching experience at the college, club, and high school level, which includes Shepherd University, Village Christian School, Mayfield High School, Sierra Canyon High School, and Chatsworth High School. 

Coach Salazar was also a head coach at North Valley SC, Hollywood FC, Crescenta Valley Soccer Club, and Golden State FC.

Edwin holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science from Azusa Pacific University, with a concentration in coaching, and a Master’s Degree in Recreation and Sport Science from Ohio University.

Coach Salazar shared, “Thank you to the search committee for entrusting me to lead this great program. The moment I stepped foot on campus, I knew that God was calling me to lead this
program and build on the foundation this school has laid.” 

Maranatha Athletic Director Sammy Skinner commented, “Edwin has such a wide range of talent and skills, but what impresses me is his leadership and strong faith which will greatly impact the girls in our soccer program.”
