Maranatha Team Competes in National Robotics Challenge

This past weekend, Maranatha High School's Science Club traveled to the University of Maryland to compete in the 2022 National SeaPerch Robotics Challenge.

Not content with their win in Regionals back in March, the team got back to work to prepare for the national competition. Joshua Li '22, JT Lam '23, Andrew Round '23, Evan Ng '23, and Aaron Chang '23 redesigned their underwater robot and practiced for hours each day to cut their course times in half. The team faced off against some very experienced robotics teams at Nationals but, despite their efforts, could not pull out a win. The Maranatha team placed 6th out of 60 schools in Mission Course Stock Division, and 7th out of 60 schools in Obstacle Course. This was the first time competing for these boys and the school is proud of their accomplishment! This experience and the lessons learned will certainly aid them in preparing for next year's competition.

Results of the competition can be viewed on www.seaperch.org.
