Student Recognized in the 2021 Ocean Awareness Contest

Congratulations to Maranatha senior Younji “Jenny” Huh for receiving an Honorable Mention Award in a global art competition.  
Jenny’s work was recognized in the Art category in the 2021 Ocean Awareness Contest, a global competition sponsored by Bow Seat Ocean Awareness Programs, whose purpose is to engage youth in creatively raising awareness of environmental issues impacting our blue planet. Jenny, who was selected from nearly 6,000 participants from around the world, received a cash award and will be featured in Bow Seat’s international Ocean Advocacy Art Gallery. You are invited to join Jenny in inspiring protection of our natural world by participating in the 2022 Ocean Awareness Contest, which is open now through June 13, 2022. The 11th annual Ocean Awareness Contest, "The Funny Thing About Climate Change," invites students ages 11-18 to create innovative pieces that raise awareness of the climate crisis through new approaches like humor, satire, or positivity. Additional contest details:
  • Students can work as individuals or as a group/class/club
  • Submissions accepted in visual art, poetry and spoken word, creative writing, performing arts (music and dance), film, and multimedia
  • Hundreds of cash awards available, ranging from $50 to $1,500
  • Free to enter
  • Deadline: June 13, 2022
