Maranatha English Teacher is Published

Daniel Hsieh ‘15 recently contributed to the book, “A Compass For Deep Heaven”.
Daniel, who joined Maranatha’s English Department this year, contributed two chapters to the just-released book, "A Compass For Deep Heaven: Navigating the Ransom Trilogy", edited by award-winning world-renowned C.S. Lewis/J.R.R. Tolkien scholar, Diana Pavlac Glyer. The book provides the background information, historical context, and literary insight readers need to navigate the cosmos of Lewis’s science fiction. Daniel’s chapters delve into Merlin and Arthurian legend.

In addition to contributing to the book, Mr. Hsieh was interviewed along with Dr. Glyer on a couple of podcasts, including Pints with Jack: The C.S. Lewis Podcast (Jack was the name many called Lewis, including Lewis himself). The episode focuses on Lewis’s Ransom Trilogy and the meanings therein.

The book reached the #1 New Release in Science Fiction & Fantasy Literary Criticism in early August in Amazon’s rankings, and currently resides at #56 in Religious Literature Criticism. See the book on Amazon HERE.
