There Are So Many Ways to Earn Your Parent Hours

As we near the end of the first semester, the number of Parent Service Program (PSP) hours required this school year has been reduced to just 10 hours, and we want to help you find ways to quickly fulfill your commitment. 

Your Parent Service Program “Red Book” is ready for pick up from the Student Center front desk from 7:30 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. Monday through Friday beginning November 30. Your student-athletes may pick up your book for you while on campus. They will also be available during the Booster Club’s Logo/Spiritwear Drive-Thru Sale on Saturday, December 12, from 8:00 am to 1:00 p.m. 
 
The PSP program encourages community involvement and supports the needs of our school, so your participation is vital! Each family is required to complete a minimum of 10 hours of service (which has been cut in half from our normal 20 hours due to COVID). If your family has not fulfilled the service hours and returned the completed coupon book by April 12, 2020, you will be expected to pay the $500 fee in May 2021.
 
The best way to look for opportunities to serve is to go on SignUp Genius, which can be found on your myMHS Resource page.
 
Here are more details about ways you can earn hours:
Admissions:
  • January, February, and March - Volunteer to drop off enrollment gifts to our incoming 9th-grade families who have been accepted.
Boosters:
  • Volunteer at the Athletic Logo/Spiritwear Sale on December 12th from 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. We will need help setting up, during the event, and cleaning up. Will also need help prior to the event to organize and prepare for the sale.   
  • Volunteer to help in the Snack Shack/Logo Store at games
  • Volunteer to sell or take tickets at games
Friends of Maranatha Arts:
  • Volunteer at shows
  • Donate goods for sale at the shows
  • Tech week assistance/food/water
Parent Association:
  • 1 PSP hour for each PA meeting you attend on-campus
  • 1 PSP hour for every hour you volunteer
  • 1 PSP hour for every $10 spent on approved items (see SignUp Genius)
  • 1PSP hour for Prayer and Care. Please email prayerandcare@mhs-hs.org to sign up for Tuesday or Friday morning prayer times, deliver a meal to an MHS family requesting need, or get a bookmark prayer card and pray for the students on your card
  • 1 PSP hour for every $100 of Script gift cards purchased. See the myMHS Resource page for the Scrip Order Form and instructions. 
General:
  • Tissue boxes! Yes, we anticipate being on campus at some point, and we want to be ready with tissue boxes that can be delivered to the front desk anytime. Earn 1 PSP hour for every $10 spent, attach the receipt to your red book.
  • Events – Check SignUp Genius for opportunities to assist our Marketing and Communications, Development, or other departments that will have activities in the second semester.
 
Your books can be signed by Ivy Jones at the front desk or by any of the above service organization
leaders, which can be found on our website.
