Students Committed to Service Despite Pandemic
A group of Maranatha students wanted to do something to support those in need during the Coronavirus pandemic. Social distancing and for some, being half way around the world in China, wasn’t going to stop this group of determined students.
Using WeChat and email to spread the word, together the students raised $8,120 to purchase Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for local hospitals. With these funds the students, who are all part of the Maranatha International Student Program, were able to purchase 4,000 surgical masks, 2,000 KN95 masks, and 495 pairs of hospital gloves. The students, whose names are listed below, donated the much needed medical supplies to hospitals in Maranatha’s local community, including Arcadia Methodist (featured in the picture, with student Chloe Hsin ‘22 making the delivery).
Maranatha High School is so proud of these students who, on their own, took the initiative to raise these funds and donate the supplies. Thank you for being great examples of Christ’s love and service to others, especially those who are sick and dealing with the Coronavirus.
