Homecoming and Spirit Week Recap

In preparation for the exciting Homecoming Game, students, faculty, and staff participated in Spirit Week. Dressed head to toe in school colors or the daily "theme", freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors decorated the MHS campus with posters, streamers, and balloons, and participated in class competition games and pep rallies every day to earn spirit points. Even members of Maranatha’s faculty and staff got into the spirit of it all. 

On the night of Friday, October 25, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and their families all gathered together for the anticipated and exciting Homecoming football game to watch our Minutemen take on Village Christian and win with a score of 48-30. During halftime, the Homecoming Court was presented and the long-awaited announcement of who will be crowned the 2019 Homecoming King and Queen finally arrived. This year, Maranatha’s Homecoming King and Queen were seniors Isaac Fields and Maddie Kane. The two were surprised, speechless, and honored to be chosen by fellow Maranatha students. 

Homecoming and Spirit Week closed with the very popular Homecoming Dance and this year’s theme was “Hawaiian: Endless Summer.” Students arrived Saturday evening at the MHS Gym dressed in Hawaiian attire and danced the night away. Homecoming and Spirit Week is a time-honored tradition that brings the school community together in one place to celebrate being part of the Maranatha family. The campus was buzzing the entire week with activities, cheers, laughter, and people reconnecting and sharing memories.
