Varsity Cheer Team Places 1st in SHARP Cheer Competition

Maranatha High School’s Varsity Cheer Team took 1st Place at the SHARP CIF Cheer Competition in Corona on Saturday, March 23.
Maranatha’s Varsity Cheer Team not only embodied everything Maranatha stands for, but they did it as a team. In addition to taking 1st Place as a team, a few of our members also won the individual competitions. Junior Alexsia Johnson took 1st Place out of a plethora of talented cheerleaders during the jumps contest, while freshman Kylie Rodriguez took 1st Place in the tumbling contest! And a special congratulations to our two Cheer Captains, seniors Ellen Ong and Hailey Sole, for leading our team to victory and who have both been accepted to USC!

We are proud and excited to watch Maranatha’s Cheer program continue to grow! If you are interested in joining the Varsity Cheer Team, please attend the cheerleading tryouts for the 2019-2020 school year on Friday and Saturday, May 3-4 (more information to follow). Go Minutemen!
