Return to Campus Updates

01-03-2022 update

We wanted to provide you with some updates to our Covid protocols to help ensure a smooth transition back to campus. The highly contagious Omicron variant has resulted in a recent surge of new Covid cases in LA County. This has necessitated a few changes to our school health protocols that we feel will help minimize the risk of exposure to Covid.

In addition to the daily SchoolPass health screening and temperature check, please note the following will be in effect when we resume classes tomorrow, January 4, 2022.
  • Weekly Covid testing is mandatory for ALL students, faculty, and staff beginning this week, and continuing through the month of January. Maranatha provides on-campus testing, free of charge, through PacTox Laboratories from 3:00-5:00 p.m. each Thursday and Friday. If preferred, weekly testing may be performed at a facility of your choosing. We strongly encourage you to schedule your test in advance as wait times have been reported to be very long. Testing and reporting is required weekly with a PCR test. Simply email the test result to us at covidinfo@mhs-hs.org by Sunday evening each week.
  • Chapel and Community gatherings will be modified this week to avoid large gatherings.
  • Medical grade face masks are required to be worn indoors, as well as outdoors when around other people. Disposable, medical grade face masks will be provided by the school, for those who need them.
  • Minimal food services will be available this week. We strongly encourage students to bring their lunch each day. We also ask that student refrain from using food delivery services (Uber Eats, Doordash, etc) as this brings uncleared people to our campus, and puts a burden on our staff.
Again, we remind you...
  • If you are experiencing ANY symptoms, even if you think you just have a cold, do not come to campus! Stay home and get tested as soon as possible.
  • If you have tested positive for Covid, please isolate yourself at home for a minimum of 10 days from the onset of your symptoms.
  • If someone in your household currently has Covid, but your student does not, please let us know so that we can clarify protocols on a case-by-case basis.
These measures are intended to help mitigate the risk of spreading the virus, so we thank you in advance for your cooperation and patience as we strive to keep our school community healthy and safe. If you have any questions regarding our school's protocols, or need to inform us of your test results or quarantine status, please email our Covid Exposure Management Team at covidinfo@mhs-hs.org.

Blessings,

John Rouse
