Return to Campus Updates

11-09-2021 update

This past week we have experienced an uptick of new cases of COVID-19 within our student body, specifically with junior and senior students. These cases are the result of activities outside of school, however, they are impacting life on campus. Due to the current number of cases and in accordance with the Pasadena Public Health Department, we will be implementing a temporary safety protocol:  Starting today, all students and staff will eat outside for the remainder of the week, and all tables have been removed from the Student Center.

Should Covid cases continue to rise, additional measures related to student meetings and other considerations will be implemented in order to keep our school open. We will keep you updated on any changes that may occur in the coming days and weeks.

All of us need to focus on continuing to protect one another and our school community by following COVID-19 protocols and practicing good personal health. This includes:
  • Wearing a mask indoors while at school.
  • Maintaining physical distancing both inside and outside while on campus or outside your home.
  • Washing your hands throughout the day, and refraining from touching your face as much as possible.
  • If you are sick, please stay at home.
  • If you think you may have been exposed to COVID-19, do not wait to be tested at school. Rather, as soon as possible, get tested and share the results with our school at covidinfo@mhs-hs.org. It is very important that we continue to communicate with one another in an honest and timely manner.
  • Especially in regards to our 3-day weekend, November 12-14, we need you to be acutely aware of the risks you may be taking when in large gatherings and use extra caution.
During these challenging and uncertain times, we as a Christian community have a great responsibility to do what is right and care for one another. Christ shared that others will know of our faith in Christ by our love for one another (John 13:35). The students are doing an excellent job of wearing their masks on campus, and these small measures will help us continue to have school in-person and be a shining light to the community at large!

Sincerely,

John Rouse
Head of School
