Return to Campus Updates

06-29-2020 update

June 29, 2020

We hope this finds you well and that you are carefully enjoying your summer. The pace around school is certainly slowed, but we all miss the students and teachers on campus.
Yes, we live in some uncertain times and we at Maranatha are daily working towards a safe return to campus in August. Our Return to Campus Team has been diligently working to reopen school in August while following all health and safety guidelines for the protection of everyone in our community.
We are carefully monitoring the most current guidelines from the CDC, County Health Office, and the City of Pasadena, and will modify our plans accordingly.
The Return to Campus Team has collaborated with other school leaders to have new protocols and best practices for all departments campus-wide.
Students and employees will be screened daily and not allowed on campus if ill. Personal protective equipment that is required for teachers will not present any barriers to effective student communication.
We have made modifications to athletic practices for this summer, following all CIF, NFHS, and local/state guidelines with great success!
We are planning an academic model that continues a high-quality education for students both on or off-campus. If a student is not on campus for a class, that student can still actively participate and be successful.
We will have new procedures for dropping off, picking up, and parking that will be communicated before school resumes on campus. We will be practicing social distancing while moving throughout campus. Class sizes will be reduced in order to comply with current social distancing guidelines for classrooms.
Students will be able to safely purchase food from the cafeteria and enjoy socially distant breaks/lunches. Our facilities will follow specific guidelines as they disinfect our campus frequently under new safety protocols.
Daily cleaning practices will be in accordance with CDC recommendations. Special attention will be paid to the cleaning of high touch surfaces throughout the day.

We will continue to communicate updates to you as frequently as possible to assure you of your student’s safety and success here at Maranatha.
