Homestay Program for International Students

Maranatha features a unique school-managed International Student Homestay Program. Students live with our caring and supportive American families, experiencing cultural immersion and a home environment conducive to learning. As a result of the homestay experience, our students gain confidence and develop socially and emotionally, enabling them to thrive during their high school years.

Homestay students will enjoy:
  • A warm supportive environment
  • Transportation to and from school, sports, and social activities
  • Immersion into the American culture
  • Support for academics
  • Three meals a day
  • Optional weekly church attendance with the host family

To ensure the safety and peace of mind of our students, careful screening is done for all our Host families. This includes:
  • Background check
  • Driving record check
  • TB test
  • Home visit every semester by school staff

For students who require homestay, we will:
  • Selects the host family for each student, taking into consideration the student's needs, including allergies and special diet needs
  • Provides cultural training for students
  • Address concerns and assists in cultural adjustments
  • Provides semester reports to biological parents

Maranatha does not discriminate based on ethnicity, race, or income when selecting host families, so students must expect that they could be placed in families of varying demographics.
